Inspection

Inspection is carried out throughout the manufacturing process both at the machine as well as in our two dedicated inspection departments. Each machine cell is equipped with a range of gauges and verniers for on machine inspection of parts. Our main inspection department which is based around two large granite tables is fitted out with a range of height gauges and digital inspection equipment as well as a large library of standard reference dies for known tolerances including threads and bars. CMM is undertaken in a dedicated inspection room using an Etalon 454 Derby system.

Bench Top Inspection: Each machine centre is equipped with a range of inspection tools ranging from slip gauges, height gauges, veniers and micrometers as well as specialist equipment where required such as this Mitutoyo SJ 201 Surface Roughness instrument which is being used to measure a bearing surface just after machining.

Inspection Department: Our inspection department with its two dedicated quality inspectors is fully equipped with granite tables and a wide variety of inspection instruments. A complete library of special materials and relevant standards is close to hand as are a complete range of calibrated threads and gauges.

CMM: For CMM we use a Etalon 454 Derby system which offers a measurement envelope of 457mm x 508mm x 406mm with a repeatability of 4µm. The system allows for printing of inspection reports in A4.
