CAD
We offer
inhouse CAD/CAM using the Mastercam suite with Mastercam
Lathe, Mastercam
Mill and Mastercam
Solids. This allows us to work with a wide range of file
types including solid
models
and
most industry standard 2D and 3D drawing formats.
2D
CAD/CAM:
We
offer a wide range of 2D CAD/CAM services covering a range
of machines using a mix of proprietary software as well as
Mastercam. We accept most standard file formats and can work
from paper
drawings. We have two inhouse CAD draughtsmen who are responsible
for preparing both working drawings and offline programs. Proprietary
CAD/CAM software is used for the following machines:
- CNC Mills
- CNC Lathes
- CNC Laser
Cutter
- CNC Robotic
Welder
- CNC Punch
3D CAD/CAM:
We accept 3D CAD files such as IGES and solid models which
can be readily converted into working CAM files.
Milling:
Mastercam
Mill is a comprehensive milling package with
a simplified, customizable interface that allows for powerful
part modeling. One of the main advantages is its integrated
File Tracking and Change Recognition features that updates
CAM files automatically from the original source, noting path
modifications and storing history. Its versatility allows for
even simple pocketing processes to be optimised including
with options for high speed, zigzag, one way, true spiral,
constant overlap spiral and "morph" pocketing. Other
important features include fast efficient bulk material removal
which saves time and a range of automated finishing techniques
such as pencil finishing, Parallel finishing, 3D project machining,
constant scallop machining and flowline machining.

Turning:
Our
turning software provides us with a full set of the very latest
tools to stream line the CAD/CAM process including a
library of commonly used operations to automate machining,
facilitate intelligent roughing of inside and outside diameters,
define finish contouring and quality as well as simplifying
processes such
as boring, drilling and point-to-point machining.
Solid Models:
Solid modeling is transforming the way parts
are designed allowing for the faster modeling of parts, greater
flexibility in accepting outside models and the ability to
carry out hybrid modeling interaction between solids, surfaces
and wireframe. We accept all types of solid models as well
as being able to convert other file types into solid formats
for long term development capabilities.

File
Types:
We can accept the following working files:
- Parasolid
(.xt)
- Autodesk Inventor files (.iam, .idw, .ipt)
- Pro-Engineer
(.drw, .frm, .prt, .asm)
- AutoCAD files (.dwg, .dxf, .dwf)
- STEP
- SAT (ACIS solids)
- IGES
- SolidWorks
- Solid Edge
- EPS
- CADL
- STL
- VDA
- ASCII
- CATIA
If you have
a file type not shown above, please call for more information,
there are very few files that we cannot work with.
